We are working hard to respect and be kind to our environment by reducing our carbon footprint, taking care of our wildlife, using materials that are kind to humans, animals and the environment and reusing, recycling and reducing waste where possible.
To encourage car sharing we offer a 5% discount to 4+ adults who arrive in one car and share that car throughout their stay. The discount code can be found on our booking system.
Chris Packham, wildlife expert extraordinaire, encourages taking kids camping (or glamping) so they connect with nature (their environment) forging a bond so they're more likely to look after the environment later on in life and if we are responsible for helping that happen in our own teenie tiny way then we'll be happy! We are only at the beginning of our Wild Wellingtons' journey, but each year we hope to improve our green practice and become more sustainable so that our business and way of life does not place a greater burden on our planet.

The majority of products we use to clean & maintain our site are eco-friendly wherever possible. We have phased out Method cleaning products (as the company have been sold to a less ethical company) in favour of Bio D.
The wood we use is either home grown or bought from local businesses & sustainably sourced/FSC approved. For example, our firewood is bought from a local co-op 30 minutes away who have their own, sustainably managed, 350 acre wood.
Solar energy powers nearly all the fairy lights on site, the solar boxes which provide light & charge small devices, the fans in our domes & heats the water in our showers & radiators whenever the weather allows.
We protect & encourage our wildlife by having insect friendly plants, planting extra trees & wildflowers, preserving wildlife areas such as the pond & by providing homes for a variety of wildlife (including bird & bat boxes). We are completely against using weed killer. We integrated our site into the land rather than changing the land to suit our site.
We plan to improve our meadow area by adding native wild flowers, grasses & trees. We have already planted 25 new beech trees, an oak & 2kg of wildflower seeds & we have a sedum roof on the kitchen cabin.
We place great emphasis on using our wonderful local products & artisans. Not only does it cut down on transport needed, which reduces our carbon footprint, but, in our small way we support the local area & businesses.
