What to bring / Where to buy

What we supply

Our camp kitchen is pretty well stocked with crockery, cutlery, utensils, kettle, pans etc. to cook simple meals and to barbecue, though if you have a favourite wok, knife or other cooking item it’s probably best to bring it. Note the kitchen has 2 hobs with a total of 6 cooking rings but no oven or microwave.

  • Children’s crockery & utensils

  • Cafetiere and hob espresso maker

  • Barbecue utensils

  • Kadai firepit for outdoor cooking & fires; comes with cooking tripod, cooking bowl & swing grill – please read our fire safety instructions on arrival in your welcome folder

  • All bedding (excluding travel cots) – please ensure if you wear fake tan it will not come off on our bedding as you will be charged for extra cleaning costs or a replacement as per our T&Cs

  • Washing up liquid, sponges, brushes, cloths & tea towels

  • Toilet rolls

  • Your first basket of wood & kindling

  • Starter amount of tea, coffee, sugar, hot chocolate & milk

  • Board games/activities/small selection of books

  • Two larder fridges

Note: we do have a lot of baby equipment so please ask, before your stay, for our list of equipment

What to bring

  • Slippers for inside the domes and Cwt ar y Bryn as domes and the hut have a no-outdoor shoes policy

  • Shower flip flops; if you prefer to use them

  • Torches for evenings as we are off-grid (not connected to main electricity, no plug points)

  • Kitchen roll

  • Extra tea, coffee and milk

  • Canteen/water bottle (our water comes from our own spring & is UV filtered. This destroys 99.99% of harmful microorganisms without adding chemicals or changing the water’s taste or odour)

  • Towels, including beach towels & an extra hand towel

  • Mosquito spray (we can get midges in the evenings)

  • Warm hats & sun hats (again, they help against midges though Tom doesn’t get bothered at all by them)

  • Your favourite family games

  • Bucket, spades & picnic blanket for the beach

  • Sunscreen – contrary to popular belief, this part of Wales doesn’t rain that much more than other parts of Britain😊!

  • Wellies – it can get a little muddy when wet

  • Warm clothes for the evenings

  • Bring a cool box & ice blocks if you’re planning on bringing lots of food that needs to be kept cool, as our 2 fridges may need to be shared between 3 families – you can re-freeze ice blocks in the ice box compartment in one of our fridges

  • It may be handy to bring a box to store your pantry goods like bread, pasta, tins of beans etc.

  • First aid kit

  • Wipes or kitchen roll & spray to clean our full-sized travel loos if you’d like one in your accommodation – wipes not to be put down any loos

Please let us know if you think we’ve forgotten something on our list.
